Innovation and Reframing was presented to a Standard Bank South Africa team as part of their Challange Programme. This was held at their education facility in Sunninghill on the 20th of April 2004.

A senior delegation from Telkom South Africa attended Jay’s Innovation and Competitive Strategies programme. It was presented at the Telkom college on the 31st of March 2004.

Jay now also teach Creating and Developing The New Organization as part of the Programme for Management Development at GIBS. These were held on 12th of March 2004 and the 3rd of April 2004.

Warman is an international company operating around the world. The executive team went through Jay’s Innovation ans Entrepreneurship programme. on the 14th of October 2003.

The South African Post Office management team that attended Jay’s Creating and Developing the New Organization found the programme exciting and useful. It was presented on the 29th of September 2003.

Jay had a paper accepted at the PLEES workshop to be held in Germany. The paper An Approach to Assemble Software Products using a Product Line Approach was well received. This international workshop titled: International Workshop on Product Line Engineering The Early Steps: Planning, Modeling, and Managing took place on the 23rd of September 2003.

Jay presented a keynote at SAATCA (South African national conference on software process establishment, assessment and improvement). SAATCA has run highly successful conferences geared to the ongoing professional development of management system auditors since 1998. With the additional of the CPA scheme to the portfolio of management system auditors/assessors, a new track is being added to this highly successful conference programme to address the continuing professional development (CPD) needs of a growing community of process capability assessors. The intention of this conference is to offer a forum for discussion and exchange of experience in the use of process assessment in the contexts of process establishment, assessment and improvement. It took place at the CSIR on the 26th of August 2003.

The very popular Innovation and Creativity workshop was attended by Gensec. It took place on the 22nd of September 2003.

Barlow World attended Jay’s Beyond the Value Chain workshop. This workshop shows how value networks are transforming modern business. It took place at GIBS on the 18th of September 2003.

A Vodacom management team attended Jay’s Innovation and Competitive Strategies course in Cape Town on the 8th of September 2003.

National Brands management team attended Jay’s model making workshop. This workshop is promoted by GIBS and took place on the 2nd of September 2003.

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) attended Jay’s Innovation and Competitive Strategies course at GIBS on the 31st of July and 1st of August 2003.

Ernest and Young senior managers and partners attended Jay’s innovation course presented at GIBS on the 26/27th of July 2003.

The SystemicLogic model was presented at the 2003 SACLA (SA Computer Lecturer Association) conference on the 1st of July. A model was presented to bring academic research closer to commercial needs in South Africa.

Ideas that Change the Rules of the Game was the topic at the Unilever Channel Management conference presented by Jay on the 8th of May 2003.

The State Information Technology Agency attended Jay’s course on Innovation and Organizational Learning on the 31st of March 2003 at GIBS.

Jay has been invited to speak at the African Rhythm Project Management Conference, hosted by PMISA, on Monday 22nd April, 2002 at the Indaba Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Jay will be presenting his paper “Using the ISO/IEC 15504 and Process Innovation to Increase Capability” at the SPICE 2002 Conference, to be held in Venice, Italy from 14 – 15 March 2002.

The Rubico approach was presented at the QAI’s International Quality Conference. I present at this conference every year. In 1999, Quality Learning, Learning Quality was presented and in 2000, product management was presented.

This is the site of the only ISO certified software engineering university department in the world called the Software Engineering Applications Laboratory. Rubico is an active sponsor of the MSc and PhD programs in software engineering. We have had a number of individuals going through and still involved with programs at the university.
